Lawrence Carnicelli, Vice President of Development

His unique and wide range of experiences have led to a deep understanding and knowledge of Maui workforce housing development that few people on Maui have.

Lawrence ended his five-year term on the Maui Planning Commission as the longest standing Chairman in MPC recent history. He helped write housing legislation while he served as Government Affairs Director of the Realtors Association of Maui and continues to serve on the Board of Directors for Stand Up Maui, the nonprofit affordable housing advocacy organization. He has been a real estate broker on the island since 1999 and his Hale Anuenue Affordable Housing Group negotiated a settlement in which Maui County received 53 Maui Lani lots to be used for affordable housing.

“For over a decade I have been focused on one thing in my career, building affordable housing for the Maui community. I feel like everything that I have done professionally has led me to this great opportunity to work with the team at Alaula. It saddens me to see Maui residents move away because they can’t afford to live here. We aim to fix that.”
